5 Tools That Will Keep You Stress-Free Throughout The Holidays

Let’s face it, the happiest time of year can also be one of the most stressful. With the joy of the holidays comes the stress of finding the perfect holiday gift for everyone on your list, the financial burdens of holiday spending, competing holiday parties and family demands, travel or hosting out-of-town guests in your home, end-of-year work deadlines, and more.

The way I see it, however, is that the right tools are your get-out-jail-free card from all of that holiday chaos. Who has time to spend stressing anyway?!

Here are my 5 favorite websites and apps to keep you help you keep your sanity, avoid getting overwhelmed and allow you to experience the joy of the holidays.

1. TRELLO: Your ultimate list-keeping tool

Use it to:

  • Keep track of all of your holiday shopping and hostess gifts! List out gifts you still need to buy, gifts you’ve already bought, gifts that you still need to wrap, and gifts that you’ve wrapped and are waiting to be given. Move items between the lists as you order or wrap them to keep track of where everything stands. You can even add due dates to each item to remind yourself when you need each gift by, or when you’ll see that person to give them their gift!
  • Create grocery lists and pull them up on the Trello app in your phone while you're shopping. This is especially useful during the holidays, when you might be cooking and baking larger, more elaborate meals than usual, requiring more ingredients that you’re less familiar with.
  • Keep track of different things you need to take care of: baking for parties and bake sales, booking and checking in for flights, sending holiday cards, registering to volunteer at the soup kitchen, etc.!
  • Create packing lists for each family member for any upcoming holiday trips.
  • Keep running gift idea lists for all of your friends and family members throughout the year.

  1. Hey I know this is off topic but I was wondering if you knew of any widgets I could add to my blog that automatically tweet my newest twitter updates. I’ve been looking for a plug-in like this for quite some time and was hoping maybe you would have some experience with something like this. Please let me know if you run into anything. I truly enjoy reading your blog and I look forward to your new updates.
